V&M Armenian Brandy

The unique simphony of senses

'V&M' brandy is a hand-crafted masterpiece of brandy art from the 'Armenia Wine' company. It is the highest manifestation of unconditional love, dedication, honesty, and care of the Vardanyan and Mkrtchyan families to the motherland and people, created from a combination of the best traditions, classical technologies, and the gifts of Armenian terroir.
This noble drink is a unique lyrical ballad, dedicated to genuine values. To achieve this goal, our chief brandy master turned into a conductor and composer - who, together with his talented musicians, faithful to their work, started the creation of the new virtuoso musical work more than 15 years ago.

[ 02 ] SYMBOLISM

The symbol of V&M brandy was embodied in the vine - the generic Tree of Life, personifying the creative center of the world, fertility, and wisdom. The creation of this drink obliges us to honor the traditions of our ancestors, who laid the foundations of the brandy production in Armenia. At the same time, we have a responsibility towards future generations as V&M Brandy sets a high bar for excellence. Fulfilling our mission required tremendous effort, time, and talent. The V&M brandy presents a new artwork to the whole world and opens a new page in the history of Armenian brandy․

[ 03 ] TERROIR

In the production of brandy, endemic grape varieties are used, including the varieties Kangun, Garan Dmak, Voskehat, Mskhali, Rkatsiteli. Most of these varieties are grown on their own roots and cultivated exclusively in Armenia. The grape variety Kangun is the most famous and widespread in Armenia.“Armenia Wine” company not only grows grapes in its vineyards but also buys from more than 600 suppliers from three wine-growing regions.

Grapes grow on the plain in the Ararat valley, at an altitude of 800 m above sea level, in the foothills of Aragats, at an altitude of 1200-1400m above sea level, and in the middle mountainous zone – in the Armavir regions, at an altitude of 1000-1100m above sea level. Armenian terroir is known for the abundance of sunny days-about 300 sunny days a year. It is precisely these features of the climate that determine the character and fullness of the Armenian brandy. The volcanic soil is rich in basalt and tuff in this mountainous country.

[ 04 ] production

V&M brandy is produced using classic French technology. The entire harvesting process is carried out manually. The grapes are harvested in September, when the sugar content in the fruit is 18-20%. After harvest, the grapes are not destemmed, and the fruits are pressed in air presses. High-quality alcohol is obtained as a result of double distillation using the Charente method, using distillation equipment from the French company Chalvignac Group. The fresh water of the Byurakan spring is used for the coupage. The water comes the slopes of Mount Aragats, at an altitude of 1500 m above sea level. For the production of brandy, Armenia Wine has chosen the classic French method, when the brandy of the appropriate age is not a mixture of alcohol of different ages, but only pure alcohol of a given age. Finally, the traditional “eaux-de-vie” liquid is created, which is transferred to the aging cellar. Olivier Chapt, the chief brandy master of the “Armenia Wine” company, is from the French province of Cognac; he, together with the company’s Armenian brandy master Grigor Aleksanyan, is responsible for the entire process of brandy production. “V&M” brandies reflect the creative approach of experienced masters, with a harmonious fusion of Armenian and French brandy schools.

For brandy production, the 'Armenia Wine' company chose the classic French method, when the brandy of the appropriate age is not a blend of different ages' spirits, but only the pure spirit of the given age.

The brandy cellar is carved in an 8-meter-deep basalt rock. Here
brandy spirit matures in French oak barrels. For the production of barrels, 80-100-year-old oak is used. For the quality aging process Armenia Wine Company cooperates with such famous productions as Seguin Moreau.
For more than 15 years, this noble drink has been aging to the
genius music of the world-famous Armenian composer Aram Khachatryan. Merging with notes of national heritage “V&M” Brandy became a unique classical symphony with the charming aromas of brandy.

BRANDY
